The Glengarry branch traces its ancestry to Ranald, son of John of Islay, Lord of the Isles, and Amy Macruari, heiress to extensive lands in the Outer Hebrides. Their second son, Donald, founded the Glengarry line, establishing a proud legacy in the Highlands.
